We can only imagine the life that Ava lived before coming to our rescue and we gather hints and clues from the condition she was found in. She seems to have been used primarily for breeding confined to a crate with a hard surface where she developed calluses on her bottom. She had the most horrid yeast infection on her skin we ve ever seen or smelled had no hair on her tail hind feet chest and belly and was covered in filth. She contracted a tick-borne blood parasite that gave us quite a scare when we got her out of the shelter but she recovered beautifully after receiving medical treatment. After all this girl has endured in her life she has yet to meet a person she doesn t absolutely love. Even with frequent vet visits and being poked prodded x-rayed she gets so excited to visit the doctor and greets all the nurses and staff with such love....
