She is terrified of the world expecting hurt and danger at every turn and being surprised when it doesn t come. We don t know quite what happened to her since she was an unclaimed stray but whatever her life was before being rescued it sure made its mark. Louise needs to learn how to be a dog. She needs to learn how to walk on the leash she needs to learn that people are good and bring good things she needs to learn pretty much everything we all take for granted with our not-traumatized dogs. She is working on her housetraining crates well but needs a big shove to get in there and is fine with other dogs. Louise is what we affectionately refer to as a project dog . She is looking for a special foster adopter to take her under their wing and nurse her spirit back to health to teach her the world is a good place and not something to be feared and to show her that she has a place in this world even though right now she feels the world is out to hurt her. Louise needs is a quieter home with a securely fenced yard and a committed foster adopter who is in it for the long haul with her. She needs someone who can commit to providing her with stability training love and lots of patience. Will it be easy No. Working with a dog this shut down and scared will test your patience to the limit and it will make you want to quit somedays. It is not easy and it is not without its frustrations. But the first glimpse of a breakthrough the first time she lets her guard down and acts like a dog and shows you that she is happy....that right there will make it all worth it.
