The feeders of a small colony of homeless cats believe that this kitten was dumped there. We will never understand this behavior but suspect it may have been because the kitten had a severe injury to its tail. But we did not know about the injury as the kitten was taken to the vet clinic still in the trap and many trapped cats just sit on their tails while in the trap. Of course at the clinic the vet notified us that the kitten s tail was seriously injured in fact it was dead almost down to the root. So while Pierre was anesthetized for neutering his tail was amputated. He is now a man-made Manx Pierre is one darling kitten very handsome with fancy white markings on face bib and paws. And oh so cute with his little stub tail. We will never know what terrible trauma he experienced that eventually caused the loss of his tail but it obviously has affected him and his ability to trust and be completely relaxed around people. He improves on that score by the day and enjoys the company of his kitty playmate and companion Pierette a very social slightly younger Maine Coon-type kitten. In fact he looks to Pierette for comfort and reassurance and we hope that Pierre and Pierette will be adopted together.Neutered tested microchipped started on FVRCP inoculations and treated for fleas and worms.Please note Pierre should be adopted with his best friendMore information & application...
