Sophia - Female Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Sophia is a gorgeous pit bull mix that has come a long way since being taken in by Mercy Fund. She started her life in a rough situation as her previous owner was unable to feed her due to unforeseen circumstances. By the time she was surrendered Sophia had become quite emaciated and had not responded well to social interactions. Once this shy girl was Safe in the Arms of Mercy she began to trust people a little more each day. Her fosters worked hard to give her TLC and proper socialization training. She graduated the New Leash on Life program in December 2015. NLOL is a program hosted at the local prison in which minimum security inmates offer adoptable animals the opportunity to learn basic commands as well as social training house training crate training and leash training. Sophia was among the two dogs from Mercy Fund selected to perform at the end of the year presentation in which the dogs perform tricks and tackle obstacles in front of an adoring crowd. Other than being a pup of many talents Sophie can offer boundless love to her family. She is fiercely loyal as bully breeds tend to be. She is also sweet as sugar and quietly affectionate. Her signature move is to kiss the back of your hand and cover your heels when she wants attention. She loves to lounge about and gets along fine with other dogs. Her foster has not had her actively interact with cats yet but her temperament suggests that she would get along with them just fine. She loves fresh baked treats and would make a wonderful companion to anyone. Adoption fee 150 She s got a gorgeous white coat with blue-grey patches dark eyes and a peachy pink nose. Her marking are as unique as she is She s come a long way in her weight gain from her once emaciated state and now weighs about 50-60 pounds and sports a little belly. Her silky long ears are intact and frame her pretty face beautifully. Sophia is up to date on shots spayed as is currently taking heartworm preventative medication. She has been socially trained leash trained house trained and crate trained. She even still knows a few tricks and basic commands thanks to foster training and the New Leash on Life program.
