Dusky wEleven - Female Pigeon

Dusky is very lucky to be alive. S he is a racing pigeon that was grounded with several puncture wounds from a predator attack (allegedly an eagle ) and was very lucky to be taken to the San Jose Animal Care Shelter from which because her person no longer wanted her and they don t adopt out birds she needed rescue ASAP. One of our volunteers picked her up took her to the avian vet for care and is now fostering her in safety and comfort. Eagle is a petite and timid bird no doubt traumatized by being taken many miles from home tossed for a race for her owner s amusement and then attacked and now trying to adjust to another alien enviroment. It is sad that she was exploited this way but now Eagle is safe. She will get a mate a happy and safe home and have a good life as a pigeon racing survivor.
