My name is Holly M. Newton and I am a breast cancer survivor. I will walk 60 miles in the Susan G Komen 3-day November 9-11 2013. I am asking for your support. The 2013 3-day is the last one scheduled for Phoenix as a venue. Though this saddens me it means I will get to travel to a new city to walk next year. The ramifications from the diagnosis of breasat cancer is still present in our home. Their foundation was shattered from the stress situations that have ensued their confidence behavior and coping mechanisms have all suffered. The family is sensitized and over reactive to minor changes. With counseling Faith tons of love and time I pray they will heal. There were approximately 230 480 new cases diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Every one of those people have a family and there is a ripple effect that can last longer than the physical treatment of the disease.( www.cancer.org acs groups content (at)epidemiologysurveilance documents document acspc-030975.pdf) I will carry over 300 individual ribbons with names on them when I walk. Names of warriors fighting now those who have gone before and with a dream of my grandchildren not knowing what breast cancer is. I know these women we have touched each others lives they are my Booby Buddies and our lives are connected.
