Sweetie - Female Lovebird

Sweetie is a pretty little Lovebird who came to us after her owner passed away. Born in 2011 she is turning 5 later this year. Although Sweetie is used to living in a fairly quiet environment (with a senior couple) she seems to relish attention and appears to be comfortable having cats and dogs around her. She is easy to handle and is not nippy. Currently Sweetie s wings are clipped but she s still a pretty good little flier (she tries hard anyway.)This little lady is missing most of her toes on one foot and we were told that she lost them when she was attacked by a larger parrot when she was younger. Not having much in the way of toes on the one foot does make it a little trickier for Sweetie to move around her cage and climb bars & ropes so her new family will have to keep that in mind when designing her enclosure. We have been told that Sweetie did have a boyfriend in the past and she got along with him well but it was problematic for her when he tried to mount her (it would throw her balance off and she d fall over.) She may do well with another bird that does not try to mate with her or she may do well in a home without other birds but where she gets a lot of individual attention from her family.
