Maverick - Male Retriever (Unknown Type) Mix

Maverick is a wonderful and very sweet dog. He can be a little timid but once he feels confident out comes a happy and playful boy. He gets along very well with other dogs. He loves to run and play with his dog playmates. And after he runs and plays he quickly settles down for some rest. He is a low to moderate activity dog. He is submissive and will readily roll onto his back and let the other dog be the boss. He loves to chew on toys and bones. He is still trying to figure out fetch he s not quite sure why someone keeps throwing his toy away from him He loves attention and really seems grateful that someone is petting him. He is very quiet and well mannered in the house. He sleeps in a kennel at night and when the foster is gone for a couple hours during the day. He goes in the kennel very willingly. But because he s proving to be so trustworthy he soon will not have to be kenneled at all. He has not had any accidents in the house. He has been introduced to cats and seemed a bit aggressive towards them but is learning to leave them alone and will listen when told to leave them. He knows some basic obedience and really wants to please his people. He has not been around small children but with his docile nature it should not be an issue. He wags his tail at everyone he sees. Overall he s a quiet and content dog who genuinely seems so happy to be in a home. Maverick is estimated to be about 4 years old and weighs about 60 pounds. Since we don t know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don t know who mom and dad are ) we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
