Rescued from a nightmare where she was forgotten about and rarely fed McKayla spent the first week of her new life at the vet just to gain some much needed weight and to recover from the ravages of neglect. Despite what she had been through McKayla would reach through the bars to seek out human contact. Now at the shelter McKayla loves to be carried around constantly. She still needs to gain some weight and build up her strength but she loves to watch all the activity going on around her. Currently Mckayla is not very adventureous. She feels safest in her hammock or in someone s arms. Slowly she is learning to play with toys and to feel more comfortable in new situations. She is not shy - she just hasn t learned that she has any choice in her life. Teaching her how to embrace life will be a joyous and rewarding task for her forever people.
