OWNER SURREDNER DUE TO GETTING A NEW DOG AND HER BECOMING DOMINATE OVER THE NEW DOG AND OVER THE YOUNG KIDS. WOULD BE BETTER IN A HOME WITH A LARGER MALE DOG AND OLDER KIDS Sandy is a very happy go lucky middle aged dog who just loves to spend time with people and be loved on. She does know some basic commands such as sit and watch me. With a quick refresher course I am sure that she knows many more commands as well though. Sandy showed no issues with food or treats and showed no issues with resource guarding of toys or food. Sandy is naturally a nervous dog and does suffer from a slight case of separation anxiety. So a family who is willing to work with her on this would be a must. Sandy does get along well with most all other dogs but a meet and greet would be required. She loves cats so much that it may bother most cats with all the attention that she wants to give them. She would do best in a home with no cats but if the home does have cats then the cats need to be very willing to put up with her in their face ALL THE TIME Sandy did show interest in toys but was not really playing with them. In her own home with time to adjust I think that she would be playing with toys in no time. She showed no issues with body handling and enjoyed rolling over for belly rubs while being handled. Sandy did come from a home with children but we were told from her previous owners that once a new dog was introduced to the home she became very protective of them. So a home that is willing to take her to obedience classes and help her adjust to her new home would be a must. She is also going to need a home that is going to provide her with the proper exercise schedule to succeed.... More Info
