Callie Jane - Female Domestic Shorthair

Hi I m Callie Jane I spent the first several months of my life living outside with a feral colony fending for myself and eating scraps of food from a nearby restaurant dumpster. A kind lady was doing TNR (trap-neuter-release) in the area and I ended up in one of her traps because I was so hungry and there was food inside. Needless to say I was terrified to be stuck in there but she quickly took me to the doctor to be fixed before going back to my feral family. Only a few days after my spay surgery I let the lady pet me so she decided she could never put me back outside to be hungry again. I was NOT happy to be in the cage while I recovered from surgery so I cried and knocked everything over in there making a huge mess. The lady then named me Calamity Callie Jane since I was so feisty.Once I got out of the cage and into my own safe room I calmed waaay down and began to soak up the love I may be small but I have a BIG purr motor and I like to run it non-stop. Because I grew up thinking that people were scary I am still timid and don t like sudden movements. Once you pet me though I can t get enough. I do like to be around other cats but sometimes I prefer to observe them from the window sill. I bonded with my siblings (Pebbles Josephine Rudy and Veruca) while in a foster home but I would probably be ok with any other friendly kitty too. I m a sweet quiet girl though I am intrigued by feather toys. I ll play with you sometimes but mainly I just want to be admired for the beauty that I am.Because I m still adjusting to big people I d prefer to have a home without any tiny people (or dogs they re loud and scary). Please come meet me soon. Once you gaze into my pale blue eyes I know you ll want to bring me home.... More Info
