Hero - Male Chihuahua

DOB 9 17 2014 Hero came to the Humane Society as a scared and non confident chihuahua. He has come a long way towards coming out of his shell. It takes him a while to warm up and feel confident with strange people. He interacts well with small dogs and cats but not larger dogs. He wants to be friendly but because of past learning it is hard for him to trust. Hero has a sweet personality and does not like being isolated from his people. According to his foster mom he likes to sleep in his bed by her bed which provides him comfort. He is completely housebroken but needs to be walked on a leash as small happenings can frighten him into running. Hero will blossom with a family that has the time to spend with him especially in the beginning. Putting him in a crate for 8 hours in the beginning will not be good for his socialization. A home with older children is preferred however he recently made friends with a young child at a garage sale. His confidence is building and we are so proud of Hero.
