Adopt Pumpkin a Green Macaw bird in Fort Worth TX (13163954)

This is Pumpkin. He is a red-fronted macaw is around 25yrs old and is presumed Male. He is a retired breeder bird and was plucked by his previous mates and other birds prior to coming into our rescue. A lot of his follicles have been damaged to where they will never grow back however he does get the occasional alfalfa feather on the top of his head that goes up when he s excited.We like to say that he has an interesting hairdo -) He is very shy and would require a very patient adopter to work with him constantly and tolerate his noise level. Pumpkin will step up and has even allowed us to lay him on his back like a baby but he is a work in progress. He is female preferential and does not do well with men. He is definitely not for a novice bird owner and would need someone experienced in handling large birds. He would not be nice around kids does not get along with other birds and would do best in a single bird home....
