Rider came to us after being placed on the urgent list from FWAC. He had what they thought was ant bites on his nose. When we picked him up we noticed he had ping pong sized knots under his chin and on his back. We scheduled a follow-up apt for him with our veterinarian and they thought he may have some infection from the ant bites and put him on antibiotics. Few days later his face started swelling and he had dramatic hair loss back to the veterinarian. A skin scape showed no mange and they were perplexed but called a dermatologist and it was suggested he had puppy strangles juvenile cellulitis a very rare immune system disease in puppies (not reoccurring). Our veterinarian had never seen a case in person but immediately began him on steroids in addition to extending his antibiotics. Within days he was doing better. Then he began vomiting and quit eating. 2 more veterinarian visits and tests x-rays and still no definitive diagnosis....
