On August 30th we received an urgent request for help for a stray King pigeon loose and extremely vulnerable in a hawk-filled canyon. A Palomacy volunteer went out that evening but the bird was gone. She left a dog crate and instructions on how to use it to trap the domestic bird. When the bird returned the next day so did our volunteer and thus Onam was caught by a caring human rather than a hungry hawk. He ( ) was lucky to survive long enough to be rescued.
