Hello My name is Red and I am a Red Lored Amazon. I am an elderly bird about 40-50 yrs old and my foster Mom says I think of myself as the matriarch of the flock. My story is a bit sad but it has gotten much happier. I was previously thrown out in the street but thankfully a Good Samaritan rescued me after finding me in a dumpster and brought me to Florida Parrot Rescue I had several medical issues upon coming into rescue. I was very thin had numerous vitamin deficiencies and a really bad scissor beak that needed a lot of work in order for me to be able to eat properly. It was also obvious that I had previously suffered from several infections and drainage in the past around my beak. I also have several fatty tumors on my body. In addition it was found that I had an untreated broken wing which has left me unable to fly as you can see from the funny way my feathers stick out....
