Meet Brownie and Blackie we believe are Labrador Australian Shepherd mixture brothers both veterinarian estimates around 7yrs of age both smaller than 45 lbs with bobbed tails. These 2 brothers have been chained all their lives and when they came to us in very poor shape. Both have missing fur on top of their backs where the chain had rubbed and the fur will not grow back in those spots. Both lacked vetting and both tested positive for heartworms we are now treating. They both are knee high tall. We tried changing their given names but they are used to their given names-so Brownie and Blackie it is. These boys at 1st were timid and afraid. They did not like other dogs getting into their personal space. Neither had been in a house before so we had work on that front and now both house broken. Yeah Everything was a new learning experience for them. They learned in time to come through an open doorway. They learned it s okay to walk on tiled floor....
