Our Chinook has done so well in his foster home he is now ready for adoption. He is one of Aspens pups who was a feral dog we rescued from the Walker River Reservation.Here s what foster mom Dorothy had to say Chinook is looking for his forever home. He was born at Dog Town Canine Rescue on 11-20-13 and his current weight is 65 lbs. He was adopted into a home as a puppy but was returned to the rescue by the owners after some lifestyle changes in the home made it necessary. While fostering Chinook I have discovered that he knows many commands such as sit stay and come. When he first arrived in our home Chinook did not really want to be petted and did not enjoy close contact with people. With time and attention however he has developed into a very affectionate dog and loves petting and inter-acting with the people and dogs in his pack and should be placed in a home with another dog or dogs. He is very energetic and loves walks playing with toys chasing and fetching his toy football and rope and just running in the yard. He is also an intelligent dog and quickly learns and enjoys new things and routines. Chinook can be protective in the presence of strangers and will bark and growl towards them but has never demonstrated actual physical aggression towards people or other dogs. With this said Chinook should go to an adult home. While it will take a little time and patience for him to adjust to a new home and pack once he settles in will become a devoted and loving pet just as he has done in his foster home.
