Meet Smitty. Smitty is a darling ten -twelve months old male Border Collie that was bailed from Bakersfield. He is black and white with a semi rough coat and a docked tail. BCIN is currently accepting applications on Smitty as his approximate available adoption date is March 1 2016. Smitty required Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery which is the removal of the head and neck of the femur. FHO surgery is the removal of the ball part of the ball-and-socket that makes up the hip joint. This way the bones of the joint are no longer in contact which eliminates the pain that is caused by the abnormal contact of the bones in a dog. Smitty is well on his way to recovery and his. Smitty has been cleared by our vet for adoption however we are waiting a bit as his foster home is committed in strengthening his leg more. His medical records are available to be transferred....
