Baytona is a 4 yr old Andalusian mare She is full of natural talent and has excellent confirmation Her movement is clean and she is very well balanced We have purposely waited until she was 4 to start her because we believe like Dr Robert Miller and other leading experts that the number 1 cause of chronic lameness in horses is from starting them too young So she was handled a little when she was a foal and then turned out until just recently Although this makes her very green she is coming along nicely She has been started under saddle and has been walked trotted and cantered in both directions with a rider She is smooth and balanced to ride She stops and goes forward really well but is still figuring out how to turn with a bit She was started in the cavesson and only just introduced the bit She has also been started on long lines as we teach all of our horses to drive Baytona already shows a lot of talent and ability to do high school moves such as the piaffe Although at this point we are not encouraging it...
