Richard - Male Lhasa ApsoDachshund Mix

Meet Richard an adorable 7 month old 5 lb. puppy whom along with his brother George look to be lhasa apso mixed with what almost looks to be dachshund These special boys had a horrible start in life. The fleas were literally eating them up and gave them anemia. They were nicknamed the ghost dogs when they arrived to their foster home since there was no color to them - white coat with white skin white gums and a white tongue. The youngest child asked Are they going to die to which her slightly older sister replied No they are just starting to live .The first few days were unnerving for their foster mom who knew they should be obnoxious and in to everything. Instead they just wanted to be held. It was on day 3 that the tails began wagging showing that they were indeed on the road to recovery. They had poor muscle tone and had never seen grass so their foster family was able to introduce them to many knew adventures. Thanks to the oher dogs in the home they conquered their fear of the grass within a day and could soon be seen clumsily running after the others. They both have great appetites and their foster mom has started them on a schedule for pottying. They love sleeping in their crate and have always slept through the night. Their crate is clean in the mornings and those happy tails now go a mile a minute They are getting over their fear of toys and learning how much fun it is to be a puppy They are officially ankle-biting playful puppies who are looking for their forever home.Richard is the smaller of the two and has a very playful side. He is feisty and will hold his own with a dog 20 times his size. He isn t afraid to jump into an all adult dog pack that is roughhousing since he doesn t know he is only 5 lbs. His nickname is Little Richard as well as Richard the Lionheart because of his warrior personality at times lol It is a complete joy to see such a lifeless puppy develop a personality that is oh-so-funny After he has exhausted himself he is ready for a nap and loves to be held at this time although he is just as content if he is crated.Due to his size Richard is not adoptable to a family with small children unless they have previous small dog experience. It is too tempting for small children to treat small dogs like Richard as if he is a toy and it could cause him injury. Richard is looking for a forever family who will make him part of a their family. He has been around all sorts of people and dogs and sometimes needs a minute to warm up but once he has he is your friend for life Due to his age he will need someone who is home to continue his potty training. He currently can go up to 4 hours without an accident.Richard s adoption fee is 200 and he is fully vetted. He has been given is shots including bordetella and rabies. He has been dewormed as well as given a monthly preventative for heartworm and fleas. He has been neutered and bounced back from surgery with no issues. If you are interested in seeing if Richard is a good fit for your family please call his foster mom Mary at -----X for a phone interview. She will have some questions for you as well as answer any questions you may have about this special guy Peace ... More Info
