This boy has a really rough background and has come such a long way that you would never believe he s the same dog if you saw him back then. Lupin came to us about 20 lbs underweight (you could count every single bone in his body) covered in parasites missing patches of hair and wouldn t let us within 20 feet of him. He was found in a ditch left for dead and as feral as a coyote. Over the next few months we would spend every moment we could working with him so that he would allow us to sit down near him or even just not run from us when we were trying to feed him. It took 6 months for him to feel comfortable enough that I could very lightly slowly touch the top of his head. I cried the 1st time he let me pet him and was surprised that he was so incredibly soft After that we made progress slowly but surely. It took an entire year of trying every single day to pet him but he finally allowed it if I went slowly and he trusted I wasn t going to hurt him....
