Our Solutions Quintel designs develops and delivers scalable multi-purpose antenna solutions that enable network operators to realize up to 40% cost savings in the deployment and operation of their infrastructure. We are currently hiring a New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer. The NPI Buyer will be responsible for performing all of the tactical day-to-day purchasing and supplier management activities to support the requirements of the R& D and New Product Introduction (NPI) personnel projects in Quintel s Rochester NY location -- primarily from the proof of concept through process verification testing (PVT) phases of the product life cycle. This is a full-time salaried position on Quintel s payroll that offers excellent growth opportunity for a motivated skilled individual. Key Responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to) Working closely with the local R& D NPI Team and Manufacturing Partners as necessary in order to effectively plan schedule purchase and expedite delivery of required supplies raw materials components fabricated parts tooling and fixtures and applied services. Sourcing Purchasing MRO products services required to support operations of the Rochester NY and Mountain View CA locations and supporting the Office Manager for the purchase of Office Supplies and other Indirect products services. Working closely with Accounting as required to resolve any invoicing payment discrepancies and any other R& D NPI financial related issues with suppliers. Developing in collaboration with the Sourcing Director new R& D NPI supply sources where existing suppliers are inadequate. Maintaining the cost of each Bill of Material (BOM) in the designated location(s). Collaborating with the Sourcing Director to provide management with updates of cost related to local Engineering Proto Builds Design Verification Builds (DVT) and Production Verification Builds (PVT). Working closely with Manufacturing Partners for drawing & BOM revision changes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as required for new product releases and phase out of older products. Required Experience Must have a minimum of five years of purchasing experience in a R& D New Product Introduction and or manufacturing environment -- preferably in electronics and or electro-mechanical devices. Must be able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings Blueprints. Must have demonstrated experience purchasing custom fabricated metal parts and custom fabricated plastic parts made to employer s Engineering Drawings Blueprints. Working knowledge of search engines and experience accessing supplier websites and on-line purchasing sites Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools -- Word PowerPoint and Outlook are required with an advanced level in Microsoft Excel Working knowledge of MRP systems highly desirable (Great Plains NAVISION preferable) Fluency in English both written and spoken Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to speak in front of groups and provide detailed updates on projects as needed Assertive and forthcoming professional demeanour Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner based upon operating parameters provided by management Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment and take a leadership role relative to Purchasing related issues Required Education Associates Degree (required) Bachelor s Degree or higher is desired ISM or APICS certification preferable but not required PMP certification desirable but not required To read full job description and to apply on-line please use link below s secure.sterlingdirect.com jobboard JOBBOARDID 597& JobDetail 154905 EOE
