Hello My name is Suede and I am a 6 yr old Nanday Conure. I found myself at the shelter when my previous family had to move and could not take me along. I am very hesitant of new people handling and caring for me. The dedicated staff at the Humane Society are trying to teach me that strangers are okay but this will definitely take some time. Like many birds I can be very defensive when I am scared and I can bite. If you know anything about us Nanday Conures it s that we are quite popular because of our terrific looks. But there is much more to us than just a fancy face We can live 30 years so I really need someone that is willing to dedicate that much time to me. We require fresh fruits and vegetables daily and can not thrive solely on commercial bird seeds. Us Nandays tend to love water so bathing would be fun for me. Without adequate enrichment and stimulation we are known to be extremely loud. We have a shrill loud voice when we want something....
