Our Gem is a statuesque beauty and gentle soul who longs for an exceptional connection to her special someone. We don t know much of Gem s history but we can safely assume that there was abandonment and neglect at play perpetrated by some no name scoundrel. Just 1 yr old Gem was found living in an abandoned building terribly emaciated and dehydrated. Animal Control Officers brought her to the big city shelter where attempts were made to find her owners. When no 1 came forward to claim her Gem was released to us right before she was to go on the Euthanasia list.Gem s physical condition was dire and she didn t have the strength to fight off the shelter kennel cough. She had quite a battle when she 1st came here. She developed a full blown respiratory infection and had to be hospitalized for a short time. Now Gem has recovered completely is steadily gaining weight and is ready to start her new life....
