Princess - Female Pit Bull Terrier

This sweet lady is named Princess. She is a Terrier Mix and considers herself the ultimate lap dog. She is 5-6 years young(vet estimated) and weighs 45 pounds. She is spayed up to date on her vaccines and on a heart worm preventative. When she arrived in rescue several months ago she was found to be heart worm positive but has since been treated and is completely free of heart worms and has no affects from the infection or the treatments. She has been given a clean bill of health. She has very mild arthritis in her right shoulder and takes an anti-inflammatory pill once a day and it does not seem to slow her down or feel painful as long as she gets her meds. It is no wonder that Princess considers herself a lap dog. She has been raised with and was brought into rescue with her 8 siblings......all of which are Chihuahuas or other small mixed breeds. Sadly their elderly owner passed away and a friend and supporter of MMR took all the dogs into foster care. She could not allow all of them to be sent to the shelter. MMR is now seeking homes for them all. None of the dogs that Princess was raised with weigh more than 10 pounds. They all climb on Princess nip at her in play and snuggle with her when she is sleeping. This is one bully breed that we feel would be fine in a home with smaller dogs. She is also fine with most larger dogs and has been exposed to them in her foster home without incident. She does NOT like to be bothered when she is eating so should be fed in a separate area from any other dogs in the home. She did not care for one larger male dog in her home and there was some growling (from both dogs) so anyone interested in adopting Princess should plan to bring their dog(s) to a meet and greet before taking Princess home. We do not expect any issues with any dogs in her new home however. Princess is also crated trained and is mostly house trained but will need some encouragement in that area when she transitions to her new home. Once she is on a schedule she does really well on her house manners.
