Stratus is a portable battery - operated reciever that works in conjunction with the ForeFlight Mobile app. it provides pilots with free in-flight weather and traffic and is a source of accurate GPS WAAS position. Stratus recieves Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast (ADS-B) weather information (FIS-B) Traffic information (TIS-B) and other related data and broadcasts it to ForeFlight Mobile via a WiFi network.Stratus is also an attitude heading reference system(AHRS). You can view your aircraft s course ground speed vertical speed turn rate attitude and altitude from your iOS device with the free Stratus Horizon app.
