If there is one thing everyone loves it s Bacon. Well look no further because we have just what you are looking for. Bacon is a 1 year old 50 lb male Shepherd mix. We don t know much about his history other than he was an owner turn in. We began fostering Bacon on July 17th. Bacon is an absolute lover and just wants to be near you. What we can tell you after a couple of days is that Bacon is a great looking dog who is a very loyal lovable dog and has a big heart. His first day or two was about as good as could be expected. Bacon is learning the routine where first thing in the morning we get up go outside and go to the bathroom then come inside and eat breakfast. We are teaching him some manners and have him sit before we feed him. Whether Bacon will be your only dog or an addition to your family it appears he would do fine either way. He would certainly love a buddy to play with. We have a German Shepherd mix of our own and Bacon has been great with him. Bacon really enjoys playing with ropes toys nylabones etc... He also likes to play fetch with her ball in the yard. Bacon has shown no aggression with toys or food either. We ve taken Bacon on a couple of walks so far and he will need someone to work with him. I don t think his previous owner walked him. He wasn t awful but just needs to be taught what to do. Bacon is crate trained and currently goes in there when we go to work. He d rather not be in there and will bark for a minute but is then quiet about it. The first couple of nights Bacon slept in his crate and again barked for a minute but was then quiet for the night. I m sure he d rather sleep in our bedroom so we will see how he does over the next couple of days and see about giving it a shot. Bacon appears to be potty trained and had one accident the very first day we got him but with all new dogs we keep an eye on him and make sure he is let outside and gets into a routine. Basically all Bacon wants is to be loved played with and given some attention. Bacon really enjoys being near you and wouldn t mind being up on the couch and snuggling up with you if you are watching TV. He s really good about it and just lays next to you. I would say Bacon has a medium level of energy since he s only 1 and would do great in just about any type of home. If you want him to play he has the energy but the nice part is he can relax nicely and be very calm. I certainly see him being able to go for a walk or jog around the block with you. Bacon absolutely enjoys the outdoors and roaming around our fenced in backyard. This handsome guy deserves a forever home and would make a great addition to your family.
