While Petey likes other dogs he is insecure with new dogs at first & as a result he can be a bit defensive around them. Because of this he will need just the right canine companion to ensure his success. He will be able to live with some dogs but not all. A well socialized doggie pal will best fit his needs. He needs a family dedicated to helping him respond appropriately when he is afraid of something. This paired with a mature household with no small kids would be Petey s perfect combination What is recommended to make this adoption successful Formal training is strongly recommended. There are many trainers to choose from. We recommend doing your homework to find a trainer who uses science-based positive training methods & has previous experience training dogs with similar behaviors as the dog you re adopting.
