Bentley - Male Labrador Retriever Mix

Bentley is a 4 year old neutered male Lab mix who weighs 50lbs. Bentley found himself at a high-kill shelter after being picked up as a stray. We cannot believe this cutie was ever roaming the streets but he is now safely in our care. Poor Bentley has clearly had a rough life. After having him examined by our vet it was determined that he was heartworm positive AND that he d suffered a severe trauma at some point in his life which caused the displacement of many of his organs and deflated one of his lungs. Despite this condition Bentley is happy and healthy and shows no signs of having medical issues. We had him seen by a veterinary specialist who determined that it would be far more risky to attempt to surgically repair the displacement of his organs than it would be to just leave him be so that s what we ve decided to do Bentley has obviously been living just fine in the shape he s in and we would never have known the difference had we not x-rayed him for his heartworm treatment. Bentley is now scheduled to be treated for his heartworm disease and then will be ready for his forever home. We will need to consider him special needs but the reality is that nothing special needs to be done for him at this point. Bentley has such an adorable personality and gives the biggest smile when he comes to greet you. He deserves a wonderful and spoiled life and that s just what we intend to offer him Bentley is great with other dogs and is eager to please his people. He s clearly got the will to live and a fighting spirit This sweet boy is just waiting for a family to call his own.
