Everyone who meets Benny falls in love with him And yes he is just as cute and sweet as he looks in his pictures. But this 10-year-old didn t always look so chipper. When he came to rescue Benny was one sick pup--4 lbs. thinner with heartworms nasty looking teeth and some pretty bad potty habits (possibly from feeling so rotten). Well those days are past. Today weighing a healthy 12 1 2 lbs. Benny has gotten rid of the heartworms and the yucky teeth (the remaining ones are pearly white ) and he s fully house trained. He does bear a couple of scars from his dark days of neglect. He has to take heart meds twice a day and he has some pretty serious separation anxiety. Unless he has a human with him 24 7 he would need to have a constant canine companion so as not to cause undue stress on his heart. But we think you re going to fall for this fella so hard that you won t even want to leave his side. Wait till you see the way he loves his walks. He adds a bit of comedy by doing drop-and-rolls along the way just to express his delight at being outside. He gets along well with other small dogs and makes an awesome bed buddy. He s also an excellent traveler in the car whether you re running a quick errand or taking a long trip.
