YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.Boyd is a super sweet Chihuahua (or mix) who was found as a starving stray. He had bad knees one a lot worse than the other and was hobbling around and waking up crying in pain poor boy.Though generous donations from our supporters we had the funds to get his really bad knee corrected and he had surgery and was neutered two days before his pictures and video. His other leg is already supporting him better so he is good to go He walks like a cowboy but is not vain so does not care that he looks silly.Why spend so much on a skinny little dude who looks like he has been chewed up and spit out by life Because Boyd is just so precious that you cannot help but fall in love with him right away. He has an amazing well balanced personality. He deserves better than the deal life handed him.He is gentle little munchkin (10 pounds now but still skinny) who has a huge heart loves everyone and just wants to be loved back. He is a major snuggler who wants to be close to people all the time though he is perfectly happy in a doggie bed as long as he can still see you. He is not demanding. Boyd loves kids (they need to be gentle since he is fragile) and adores being in the middle of family life. The more people the better. He makes friends instantly.Boyd was a good boy at the vets and continued to be extra sweet post op even though we knew he was in pain (any of you that have had knee surgery know what we mean). Being sweet is just his nature.UPDATE August 4 - Boyd is doing so well and feeling much better Today he went on a field trip to the Bicentennial Gardens and had a wonderful little walk and such a great time saying hello to all the people and all size dogs. He is a sociable confident tyke He does not need or tolerate much exercise so if you are not a big exerciser he may be perfect for you He loves to be held on your lap but also loves a soft doggie bed. Being upside down cradled in your arms like a baby and getting tummy rubs is a wonderful thing to him. He is a very trusting little guy who feels every stranger is a new friend.He must have been totally adored and spoiled in a home for much of his life because that is what he seems to feel is the right way to live. He is totally comfy with all the normal comforts of life as a beloved pet. He seems to be crated trained though being in a doggie bed by your side is a much happier place. He is probably trying to tell us he is a good boy and does not need to be crated He is housetrained and was perfect on his recent foster home visit. He is very well behaved overall an easy keeper.We can imagine he may have been totally doted on for a number of years and then somehow lost that good home and ended up tossed away and neglected. His backbone and ribs stick out in his initial pictures but he has a wonderful appetite and is eating well and gaining weight.We think Boyd is about 7 years old. His eyes are bright and clear his hearing seems to be perfect. He is missing some teeth but the remaining ones look good and actually pretty white. He has just had a really rough time of it lately which makes him appear initially older. Boyd really needs a home in which family is home a lot and he would especially love to have some well mannered kids in his new home.He is good with other dogs and enjoys their company but he is perfectly happy as an only dog since his priority is people. He would also be fine as a companion to your laid back dog (he does not care about playing).So please apply for this darling gentle love bug if you want to be adored and are willing to spend lots of time adoring sweet Boyd.
