Pixie - Female Labrador Retriever Mix

Pixie Pixie is an adorable (and good looking) 55lb yellow lab mix. She has a relatively short peanut butter colored coat with longer marshmallow fluff highlights. Her frame is elegant and her posture proud. She is probably 1 and years old. In the house Pixie quickly learns what is expected of her and generally conforms to what we want. For example she loves to be invited up onto the couch but will stay off when requested. She does have mischievous moments though as if she is testing whether or not we REALLY mean it She is always enthusiastic about walks and runs but is happy to stop and smell the roses too. Pixie runs along comfortably at 9 minute mile pace on a leash with some sniff breaks built in She can go much faster if she is allowed to run free. She will walk nicely on a lead unless she notices something very exciting then her enthusiasm generally gets the better of her. Pixie is playful and loves her un-stuffed furry fox with squeakers in (or maybe an old sock) which she will pounce on shake and chew over and over again Pixie s has a strong prey instinct and is wired to sniff out critters in the woods. Pixie relishes being close to people and behaves really well with them happily receiving petting from more or less anyone. Pixie loves to snuggle and adores having her head neck ears and belly rubbed. Her limited exposure to young children suggests she may not do so well with toddlers and preschoolers. Pixie is very keen to meet other dogs. Sometimes she is a little over enthusiastic with them to start with and needs help remembering her doggy manners. She prefers to get all the attention and should be the only pet in the family because of her terrier instincts and because staying cool with other dogs can be challenging for her. Pixie tries very hard to tag-along with her people she does not like getting left behind.
