Jack Jax - Male ChihuahuaShih Tzu Mix

Jack is a nearly 2-year-old Chihuahua shih tzu mix with a wiry black-and-white coat. His human companions brought him to the shelter because they said their small children were too rough with him and he would begin to nip when overwhelmed and they had no time for a dog. He subsequently was adopted and his adopter brought him back after 6 months because she was dealing with her own health issues that prohibited her keeping a dog. Jack s original family said he s shy toward strangers but is an energetic and playful lap dog who loves attention and that he ll do best in a home without children. They said Jack avoided certain children in the family and will nip if touched right away by a child he doesn t know. He is protective of his family members when visitors reach toward them. He enjoys playing fetch will learn tricks for treats and likes to play with cats and other dogs. Jack loved to cuddle on his human companion s lap when she sat on the couch. He was crated daily from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. at his former home and his family said he was calm while in the crate and only had accidents when left alone for long periods.
