5 yr. neutered Queensland Heeler rescueArlo wound up in the shelter with who we believe to be his brother we named him Woody. He ll be be here soon. Arlo is very small about 23 lbs... been seeing some tiny heelers in lately.Arlo walks on leash but it s still new to him. He ll be fine. Was not at ease with all the new faces. Solved that right away lots of private rooms here. And while I did a 3 dog intake I let Arlo chill in his own suite with a big bowl of food and a gallon of fresh water. Once I has the others in the yard I opened Arlo s kennel run. Took some photos and some other pack members meandered in and out. Arlo let them know if anyone got too close for comfort and these dogs are very well balance they just move on to someone more social. And Arlo relaxed. He knows he has a safe haven if the dogs are too scary. But he is now walking around and checking things out. He s probably only been with his brother for the couple years of his life. Although they do not appear to lean on each other as allies they can and probably will be adopted separately. He knows he has a safe haven if the dogs are too scary.
