Antique Cedar Hope Chest This Cedar chest was built by The Acme Cedar Chest Company of South Bend Indiana. Internet research revealed The Acme Cedar Chest Company of South Bend Indiana was founded by Edgar Burner in early 1900 s. The plant burned down on July 4th 1916 due to fireworks. Consequently this Cedar Chest would have been built between 1900 & 1916 making it right around 100 years old. Has scuffs & nicks as to be expected for a piece of furniture of its age along with the patina that adds to the unique history of this chest. (Look closely at photos to evaluate condition.)
