Until she came to stay with us she lived outside in a backyard with other dogs and limited human contact. Sandy is learning what it s like to be a house dog. She is eager to please. She is being crate trained. She is somewhat reactive to new sounds and sights and sometimes jumps a bit when she hears something unfamiliar. But every day she gets better and better.Sandy lives with other dogs now and loves to play with a male lab puppy very well. Sandy would do best in a home with either a male dog or submissive male female dog or as an only dog. She has had limited exposure to cats. Because of her past we think the best home for Sandy would be with experienced dog people who can continue to work on socializing and training Sandy. No invisible fences or a family that is gone from home all day long. She would probably do very well with a family with kids over ten-years-old. Bottom line is she needs a patient and understanding family as she continues to blossom into all she can be Visit AEAR.org to learn more about Sandy. All our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. This gives us the ability to really get to know the animals we have available and find them families that are a good fit for them based on their personalities.
