Meet DeOhGee Male Border Collie Mix2 - 3 years old weighing 32lbs. DeOhGee is currently living in a high kill shelter in TN. This sweet boy was picked up by animal control after being shot. Sadly he lost his leg but it hasn t slowed him down. He is a beautiful boy and ready to be someone s new best friend.Sadly DeOhGee is also Heartworm and needs to come to IL to start his treatment. Heartworm is treatable and consists of a minimum of 60 days committment. The first 30 days DeOhGee will need to be on antibiotics. He can play and exercise as normal. Then he will receive 2 injections 24 hours apart followed by strict crate bed rest for 30 days. After that he will be adoptable. Fostering a dog through Heartworm treatment is special as they need lots of tender love and care.DeOhGee would like to be rescued from the high kill shelter he is currently living in. If we have a comitted foster home for him he would arrive next Saturday September 10th.Safe Haven pays for all vetting (done locally- Geneva Wheaton Naperville Elmhurst) and provides supplies while fostering Please contact -----(at)--- for more information about fostering He is also available for our Foster to Adopt program. This program allows you to be the family that greets him when he arrives in Illinois. Foster to Adopt families have the first option to adopt if you determine this is the pup right for you While you foster we pay all expenses from vetting to food and we provide a crate leash collars and toys. Your family provides love (something he desperately needs ) and a safe place to lay his head until he finds his forever home. We also require that you have the ability to take him to routine veterinary visits at our participating vets. These vets are located in Wheaton Naperville Geneva and Elmhurst. Spay Neuters are done in North Aurora.Fostering is the most life giving thing you can do for a dog or puppy It is a very rewarding experience that will make a huge impact on their life.
