Kenna - Female Golden Retriever

Kenna is a beautiful 6 year old purebred female golden and came to AGR through the Westside shelter. She is a very sweet dog who loves attention. She will stay by your chair for attention as long as you are willing to give it. She enjoys short walks and when meeting people on walks she will wag her tail and then sit without being told. Kenna would do best as an only dog. She is not reactionary to other dogs on walks but would not do well nose to nose in a dog park or other close situation. We have not evaluated Kenna with cats or young children. She is very eager to please and would do well in a home that is quiet with people that have time to give her attention -- someone that recognizes she has had a hard life and deserves so much better. She is not destructive at all when left alone and is so excited and relieved when you come home. Kenna is a smart girl and learns quickly. AGR has been working closely with our vets to resolve some medical issues that she came in with. She will be having arthroscopic surgery on her elbows to debride the joint from some bone fragments in mid-September. The recovery is not extensive and we would like to have her forever home ready and waiting following her post surgery check-up.
