This sweet girl has been one of our best kept secrets. Please read her full story.Meet Kiki. This adorable 10-month-old boxer girl steals everyone s heart. She is pretty tiny weighing only 35 pounds. She should be more like 45 but her life so far has not been stellar. When we say that Kiki is amazing we mean it. She is adorable friendly loving cuddling playful but not at all hyper. She is so perfect although her life has not been. Kiki came to us after a family rescued her from a campground where her family was trying to trade her for an older dog. Her rescuers didn t give her owners another dog but they did take Kiki and then contacted us. Kiki came to us with a horrible cherry eye (this pic is post-op you should have seen it before) and something else int he other eye. Dr. Bair performed the surgery on the left eye and then diagnosed Kiki with a dislodged lens on the right--the result of blunt force trauma such as kicking. The long term effect of this will likely mean that Kiki will develop glaucoma in her eye down the road and that her eye will need to be removed. She isn t there yet but we do want to be open about the long-term needs.On top of all of that Kiki has a horrible bladder infection. No not just a bad infection. It has been awful. She has been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks. There has been some improvement but she isn t 100% yet. This means that Kiki needs frequent trips outside for potty breaks and may still have an occasional accident while she is on the mend.Kiki is awesome with all people and animals she meets. She is well mannered and has learned some basic commands in her foster home. She is housebroken as best as she can be with her problem and is a good girl in her crate.We are looking for a foster or potentially foster-to-adopt home while Kiki is healing from all that has happened to her. Her foster mom is leaving out of town and needs a new place for Kiki by September 12th.
