Dolores is an affectionate easy-going lady who is looking to find her forever home. Contrary to many Chihuahua stereotypes she is an extremely quiet houseguest no barking or yapping at all so far. She gets along perfectly with her furry foster sister and hangs out in her playpen when her foster parents are at work or out of the house. She absolutely loves to be outside and go on wa lks and has been extremely friendly with all the respectful dogs she s met around the neighborhood both big and small. She can get very startled by unexpected loud noises so it s important that she s walked using a well-fitting harness or slip lead as she can wiggle right out of her collar if frightened. This will likely improve as she gets used to her new surroundings. She is completely housebroken and has not had any accidents inside. Dolores would do best in an all-adult home. Older respectful children may be okay. She truly lights up around her people and will nestle herself right up against you looking for affection. She appreciates soft words gentle touch and positive reinforcement and absolutely melts when you stroke the velvet-soft fur behind her ears. She would love to meet you at the Adoption Center this weekend and see if you are the forever home that she has been patiently waiting so long to find. Dolores is a 9 pound Chihuahua mix who is estimated to be 7 years old. PUPPIES Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved a meeting can be arranged. Also we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs however the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. SPAY NEUTER As we believe proper healthcare of one s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
