This poor kitty has had one thing after another go wrong in her life. She was adopted out to someone who ended up front declawing her and neglecting her (she was horribly matted) and then dumping her at a kill shelter in Oklahoma Thankfully the shelter contacted us after scanning Bridgett for a microchip which is connected to us. Because of her terrible mats (which were painful and tugging on her skin) Bridgett had to be shaved. Her fur is starting to grow back but she does require regular brushing to prevent mats. The declaw also causes her some pain in her feet - jumping up or down and even the simple act of kneading causes her discomfort. She was diagnosed with mammary cancer and while the tumor was removed it is a terminal cancer. However there s no guarantee on how short or long her life will be. Her foster mom is committed to keeping her as long as needed but she would really happy in a home without cats and getting ALL of the love and attention. Bridget is FIV positive and we ve included an infographic on FIV kitties in her photos. Even through ALL of this this sweet girl absolutely LOVES people and to be around them. She has a very gentle personality. She s looking for a home where she can have lots of love attention and a nice lap to sit in. NTCR is offering to allow someone to be her forever foster and we will pay for her medical bills at one of our vet s offices. Because our vets offices are in Allen McKinney and Farmersville it s best if Bridgett s forever foster is located in or close to those cities.
