1933 Stearman Model 70 Lycoming R-680 US Army Air Corps Radial E

8500 This engine was likely used for the Stearman Kaydet prototype Model 70 which appeared in 1933. This is a Lycoming R-680 US Army Air Corps Radial Engine Type R-680-3A Serial No A-C-33-40 Order No 33-2490-P The Lycoming R-680 is a nine-cylinder air-cooled radial engine the first engine produced by Lycoming. The engine was produced in two types the E and B series. This 1933 Lycoming R-680 has been completely stripped down to bare metal and beautifully restored to show quality. A beautiful piece of usable art for any man cave or office lobby. All steel parts have been painted with a high gloss black automotive paint or a clear coat to resist rust. When I originally bought the engine it was missing more than half of the original valve covers. I was able to restore one valve cover to its original shape and made a mold then I cast all 18 valve covers out of urethane. The valve covers have been painted high gloss black to match. The item is located in Olathe Kansas and is available for local pickup or I will crate and ship the item anywhere in the United States for an additional cost to buyer.
