Vintage 42-year old taxidermy shark trophy nearly 6 feet long. In excellent condition except for some scratches in the paint on the back that don t show. The last composite image shows the brass trophy plaque that s on its backside and the taxidermist s business sticker that s also on the back. This variety of taxidermy is referred to as a reproduction mount . A taxidermist creates a replica based on the measurements of the actual animal then the sportsman takes a replica home as his trophy. Most hammerhead sharks are a protected under the Endangered Species Act. Vintage ESA mounts may not be sold across state lines but they can be sold within the state they reside in.
