We invite you to come and stay at Asheville s only COZY BEAR COTTAGE - A Beary Nice PlaceOur Cozy Bear Cottage will provide you with a very comfortable and serene place to stay during your visit to Asheville and the surrounding area. Our cottage is located in East Asheville and it is only a ten-minute drive to downtown Asheville. You will have easy and quick access to I-40 I-240 and I-26 which provides the ability to quickly get to places such as the Biltmore Estate Black Mountain Grove Park Inn as well as music venues restaurants and shops in downtown Asheville. The cottage is located on a well-maintained private road in a very quiet and safe setting. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 2.5 miles away and from there it s a short drive to either Mount Pisgah to the south or Mount Mitchell to the north. (check out the Folk Art Center just as you get onto the Blue Ridge Parkway) Drive to Chimney Rock and take in the tremendous views from on top and then go to Lake Lure and enjoy a very nice guided-tour on a pontoon boat. Check out Navitat Canopy Adventures in Barnardsville NC to experience a unique and fantastic zip lining experience (zip and walk through the treetops in the day or night time).The cottage has three roomy bedrooms two full baths a well-equipped kitchen comfortable living room with a 37 HDTV large and wide wrap around deck premium hot tub with built-in sound system fire pit and a newly install six foot wooden fence along the side and rear of property. Please refer to the photos that have been provided to give you more details about the cottage as well.Our family has found that traveling to Asheville will provide you with an almost overwhelming amount of things to do and see. In addition to the places mentioned above our cottage is just minutes away from first class golfing art museums various hiking and biking trails white water rafting in the French Broad River in the spring and summer months and in the winter months go snow skiing and snowboarding at either Cataloochee Ski Resort in Maggie Valley NC or Wolf Ridge Ski Resort in Mars Hill NC. Lake James is close by for your enjoyment as well.Downtown Asheville is a great place to spend some time and you will experience wonderful dining music and shopping. Some of our favorite places to eat are Sunny Point Early Girl Eatery Over Easy Caf French Broad Chocolate Lounge Laughing Seed Tupelo Honey Bouchon French Bistro Vinnie s Italian Restaurant Heiwa Shokudo Japanese Restaurant Olive or Twist and many many other fine restaurants. Enjoy a fun night out for a wide variety of music playing at the Orange Peel or Civic Center. Usually on Friday nights there will be a drum circle gathering that just happens along with numerous performances on the street corners. Another interesting place is the Sky Bar where you can view the surrounding city and mountains and watch a beautiful sunset from a unique outside venue. In the spring and summer enjoy a baseball game at the historic McCormick Field. There are also numerous seasonal festivals to attend. From the large to small shops in the downtown area all are very unique and and provide an almost endless array of selections.
