Telecommunications Tech - AV VTC (TEMPORARY)Location Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) Fort Belvoir VirginiaPls. apply online at www.1prospect.com careers1Prospect is seeking a qualified Telecommunications Technician AV VTC to provide Temporary support and telecommunications services in support of Medical Communication Infrastructure Technical Support Services to Ft Belvoir Community Hospital and its ancillary clinics within the National Capital Region Medical Directorate to include Dumfries Health Center Dumfries VA Fairfax Health Center Fairfax VA and DiLorenzo Tricare Health Clinic Arlington VA. Duties and Responsibilities Support the designing delivering and maintaining solutions for both secure and non-secure video systems which include Cable Television (CATV) VTC and desktop LAN VTC systems and web-based collaboration tools. These video systems may include but not limited to cameras recorders multipoint bridges Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and dial up systems amplifiers microphones compression equipment equalizers remote controls special optical enhanced equipment and video interface equipment. Configure video service to be delivered via ISDN IP SIP or other digital transmission service support multi-point bridging and enable routing of video calls to off-net locations over the FBCH network to FBCH location nearest the destination point. Configure the equipment to support transfer of multimedia data (e.g. text graphics images video and audio) to a format the receiving side can integrate. Provide technical support for web-based collaborative training and other advanced VTC solutions. This may include but not limited to planning VTC networks designing infrastructure engineering installing testing and maintaining these video infrastructures. Provide remote diagnostic services for videoconferencing systems and sessions. Plan implement and manage VTC and video projects and services. Provide VTC services including scheduling conferences and rooms configuring internal and external bridging and operating equipment during VTC sessions. Operations are limited to startup of initial conference support for technical issues occurring during in- progress calls and termination of call. It does not include a VTC operator. Operate maintain configure and test VTC and other video services operating in unclassified modes. Upgrade VTC equipment software hardware and firmware perform preventative maintenance troubleshoot replace failed hardware components and modify the configuration of teleconferencing equipment. Provide onsite support for setup and configuration for local presentations and endpoint to endpoint presentations. This shall include the setup of portable VTC equipment (e.g. PA systems Portable Projector). Provide VTC network technical support and maintenance of network base end points. Provide SW distribution and install upgrades to videoconference SW and firmware. Maintain an awareness of new VTC technologies and provide recommendations and guidance to the COR for improved VTC services. Track equipment used in conference rooms for availability and proper functionality including the ability to assist with the set up and recommendation of conferencing equipment in support of FBCH Clinical objectives. Work with all phases of the system life cycle concerning audio-visual and telepresence systems. Operate all system components (including mainframe minicomputers microcomputers software and mass storage devices). Effectively communicate with C-Level Executives and systems users both verbally and in writing. Manage service ticket queues Required Experience Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated experience with VTC system infrastructure and both hard and soft endpoints. Demonstrated experience with the implementation and operation of integrated computer-based audio-visual and telepresence systems with minimal oversight. Demonstrated experience with meeting and room scheduling software. Demonstrated experience in operation and configuration of audio-visual and telepresence systems (in particular Polycom Cisco Tandberg Crestron and Extron equipment) Demonstrated experience with meeting and room scheduling software (experience with Meeting Room Manager Outlook and LANDesk is preferred) Demonstrated ability to implement and operate various types of fully integrated computer-based systems with minimal oversight Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Experience with audio-visual systems and presentations Working knowledge of Crestron and Extron control systems Excellent Customer Service skills Secret Clearance Preferred Experience Experience with Polycom and Cisco Tandberg equipment is preferred. Experience with Meeting Room Manager Outlook and LANDesk is preferred.
