We re looking for Support Workers to work with us in Starlight supporting people with autism severe behaviours challenge and learning disabilities to build new lives in the community sometimes after long-term stays in hospital as a part of the Transforming Care initiative. The people you will be supporting love a variety of activities including Swimming Shopping Cooking Socialising going on days out Cinema College Courses walking gym being part of their community and can at times have a hectic schedule. All of the above play a significant part in their life.Being social and having conversations about things that are of interest and daily life is something they truly value. There is a definite sense of fun in the service and a sense of humour helps in building rapport and good relationships with the people you will be supporting.In the home the emphasis is on active support so working with and not for the people we support maintaining and developing skills to keep their home environment clean and well maintained.
