Position Employment CounsellorTerms of employment Full-time PermanentWage 25.50-29.50 Hour (depending on experience)Hours 30-40 hours WeekBenefits 4% vacation pay Bluecross Benefit after 3 months of probation Job Duties Provide workers with useful information and strategies for maintaining a job or moving within an organization making mid-career changes and adjusting to workplace transitions Advise workers on dealing with job dissatisfaction human resource and other employment issues Interview customers to acquire employment history educational background and career goals Help customers to overcome barriers to employment by teaching them job readiness skills job search strategies writing resumes and preparing for job interviews Evaluate need for assistance such as financial aid further training and refer customers to the appropriate services Search and obtain information regarding job openings job requirements and other occupation related information for customers Employment Requirements A bachelor s degree in employment counselling or in a related field such as psychology social services education or human resources development is required.
