Hi. My name is Joey Silva and I am a Music Teacher and Musician. I play and teach Piano and Drums Percussion. I have taught music lessons for nearly 14 yrs. I obtain a Master Degree in Music from San Diego State University in 2009. During these Challenging times I am providing Music Lessons in Drums and Piano ONLINE via Facebook Video Messenger. In Piano I teach Classical along with other genres including Contemporary Pop Some Jazz etc. I focus on the fundamentals of piano including Music Theory Technique Phrasing Ear-training. These concepts include Diatonic major and minor scales Chords and Chord Progressions etc. These terms are essential to help the student progress beyond the beginning stages. I focus on Theory and Ear-training in order for students to satisfy the Certificate of Merit requirements. In Drums I focus on Rudiments Groove Rhythm patterns that can be used in many styles of music including Rock Jazz Latin-samba Patriotic Orchestral Marching Concert Band etc. These concepts of Rudiments and Rhythm patterns can be incorporated into playing many types of Percussion including Drumset Snare Bass Marimba Timpani Multiple Drums etc. These are some of the fundamentals towards helping you succeed in any performance group Drumline Percussion Ensemble Orchestra Rock Band and beyond.
