I HAVE A HOOVER STEAM VAC LS THAT I BOUGHT APPROXIMATELY 20 YEARS AGO AND I HAVE ONLY USED IT MAYBE 4 OR 5 TIMES. THIS CLEANER HAS 5 BRUSHES THAT DEEP CLEAN CARPETS AND SCRUB BARE FLOORS. THE CLEANING SOLUTION PLUS HOT TAP WATER IS USED TO CLEAN THE CARPET FIBERS AND IT WORKS FINE WITH NO DAMAGES IDENTIFIED. THE CLEANING HEAD IS 12 INCHES WIDE SO I BOUGHT A NEW CLEANER THAT HAS A BROADER HEAD.ITEM IS SOLD AS-IS EITHER PICK-UP OR MEET SOMEWHERE (I PREFER THE MEET DELIVERY DUE TO THE VIRUS).THE 40 IS FIRM AND SOLD IN AN AS-IS BASIS.
